Galilee Memorial Garden

Photograph of engraved bricks on a walkway, some showing names, others with inscriptions, including one that reads 'IN MEMORY OF THOSE LOST TO ADDICTION'.

Located at the Galilee house, the Galilee Memorial Garden has been relocated from the Port of Galilee where it stood for years overlooking the fishing boats. It has been revitalized with the help of our local boy scout troop.

The monument was erected in memory of those who loved the sea. The engraved marble wall, memorial bench and inscribed brick walkway have been brought to the Mission and recreated into a beautiful garden setting. Visitors can come to the memorial to view the names of loved ones and friends or just enjoy some quiet time. The memorial grows each year with the dedication of new bricks, benches, and tributes to loved ones.

Galilee Mission
Golf Classic

Our annual fundraising event is our Galilee Mission Golf Classic, which is held each year in September. This event has been a recovery community favorite for over 15 years and draws local golfers competing for raffles and prizes. Held at a local golf course, it promotes camaraderie and awareness of substance use disorders and mental health issues and their treatment. Thanks so much to this year’s sponsors, Town Dock and Belmont Market!

Soup for the Docks

For almost 20 years, Galilee Mission staff and local volunteers have headed to the Port of Galilee every Tuesday and Thursday year-round to deliver hot soup that is handmade in The Mission’s kitchen to fishermen, dock hands, and others who work in the fishing plants at the port of Galilee free of charge. Doing this helps us stick to our roots, give back to the community, and most importantly, remember where we came from.
